Rabbi Katie Mizrahi grew up in Boulder, went to high school in the Denver suburbs, and graduated from Stanford University with honors in Religious Studies and Philosophy. After spending some years in Jerusalem studying in yeshivah and working for human rights and peace education NGOs, she attended the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, where she received her rabbinic ordination in 2005. Rabbi Katie then spent two years in New York City as a rabbinic fellow and sabbatical rabbi at B'nai Jeshurun and West End Synagogue. Most recently, she served as the rabbi of Or Shalom Jewish Community in San Francisco for the past 15 years. She began as the rabbi of B'nai Havurah in Denver on September 1, 2022.
As a leader, Rabbi Katie brings a keen rabbinic mind, warmth, humor, authenticity, and skills as a singer, drummer, and inspirational speaker. She and her husband now live in Centennial, along with their two boys.
"It is a deep joy to arrive at this moment of becoming the rabbi of B'nai Havurah," said Rabbi Mizrahi. "My cup overflows with gratitude, excitement, ideas, and hopes for our shared future. For me, coming to serve as the rabbi of B'nai Havurah will be both a new beginning and a homecoming, and I am so thankful for the blessing of this opportunity."
